Dear Reader,
It has been some time since our last issue and I sincerely apologize for the delay. In the meantime though HIV remains among us and the fight against it still dominates our health care system. Some of you may be tired of hearing about it. Complacency has set in and you no longer care about HIV… Hold it; you sincerely cannot sit by and let yourself or loved ones acquire this menace! HIV continues to present both old and new challenges to our communities and health care system. Each and every one of us is at risk.
Question is, how come people still contract HIV despite all the information out there? How do we help the weak members of our society, especially women and children, protect themselves? What of TB? Should we let it undo the achievements we have made with Antiretroviral therapy? Can we risk defeat?
These are some of the questions we address in this issue. The advocacy movement has helped coin the multi-sectoral approach to HIV we see today, and they refuse to give up. So why should we? One way or another, each of us can take on a role in this battle. I pray that you come away from this issue feeling refreshed and ready to dive back into the HIV fight. The struggle continues…
