MUWRP, with support from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has been working in Uganda to provide HIV prevention, care and treatment services since 2005. HIV prevention, care and treatment services support through local governments are part of the MUWRP program and have grown from one district coverage to now over 60,000 people in the districts of Mukono, Kayunga, Buikwe, Buvuma and operates one specialized clinic in Kampala district.

MUWRP runs a comprehensive, robust and data driven program that prioritises; finding HIV positives, early initiation on antiretroviral therapy, adherence and retention to treatment of its client under care in 88 facilities to achieve its overall goal to improve the quality of life among HIV positive clients.

Working with the Ministry of Health, local government leadership, Faith Based Organizations, identifying 95% of HIV positives, ensuring that 95% of the positives identified are on treatment and that 95% of positives under care are virally suppressed by 2030.
